Google Shopping Feed Optimization

Shopping performance is decided in the feed before a single bid is placed. Here's the feed hygiene and structure we use to win the auction you can't see.

On Google Shopping, the auction is for clicks, but the impression is won by your feed. A weak feed means your products never surface for the queries that would convert — no bid strategy can fix that.

We start with title structure, which carries the most weight. The product title isn't a name — it's a keyword phrase ordered by intent: brand, category, key attribute, variant. "Allbirds Wool Runners - Men's Natural Grey Size 10" beats "Runner" every time. Next is image quality: a clean white-background hero with the product filling the frame, because Shopping serves the image before anything else.

Then we layer custom labels on top of the feed to control bidding by margin, best-seller status, or seasonality — letting us bid aggressively where it counts and pull back on low-margin long tail. A feed tune typically lifts Shopping revenue 15–40% with no budget increase, because you're suddenly eligible for the high-intent queries you were previously invisible on.
